Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Dance Teacher specializing in both Classical and Western dance forms. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their skills and passion for dance, encouraging artistic expression while maintaining discipline and professionalism. The teacher will instruct students across various age groups, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and contemporary dance styles.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery:
  • Develop and deliver engaging dance lessons in Classical (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, etc.) and Western (Jazz, Hip-hop, Contemporary, etc.) dance forms.
  • Guide students through choreography, technique, and performance preparation.
  • Lesson Planning:
  • Design structured lesson plans that incorporate both practical and theoretical aspects of dance.
  • Continuously update and adapt lesson content to suit the needs of different student levels.
  • Student Assessment:
  • Assess students’ progress through regular evaluations and performances.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance for improvement in technique and performance.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Prepare students for school events, competitions, and annual cultural programs.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to coordinate and organize dance-related activities and performances.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Implement strategies to ensure productive use of time and student engagement.
  • Parental Engagement:
  • Regularly communicate with parents regarding student progress and participation.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events to discuss student development.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in dance education and integrate them into teaching.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, and training to further develop teaching methods.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dance or Performing Arts, with specialization in Classical and Western dance forms.
  • Diploma or equivalent certification in Classical Dance (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, etc.) and Western Dance (Jazz, Hip-hop, etc.).
  • Experience Levels:
  • Founder Level: 1-3 years of experience teaching dance to various age groups.
  • Master Level: 4-8 years of experience in both Classical and Western dance instruction.
  • Developer Level: 9+ years of experience, with experience in choreography and performance coordination.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in teaching at schools or dance academies, and the ability to prepare students for performances at both the school and competitive levels is highly desirable.

Screening Process:

  • Dance Performance Demonstration: Candidates will showcase proficiency in Classical and Western dance forms.
  • Interview: Focused on teaching philosophy, classroom management, and curriculum planning.
  • Proficiency Test: Assessment of ability to use digital tools for virtual instruction, if required.
