About the Role:
We are looking for a talented UX Writer to join our product design team and help shape the user experience of our products through concise and impactful writing. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with designers, researchers, and product managers to create user-friendly and engaging interfaces. As a UX Writer, you’ll craft copy that guides users through seamless digital experiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy & Guidelines:
- Develop and maintain a UX writing style guide, ensuring consistency across all digital products and platforms.
- Help establish content standards and best practices to enhance the overall user experience.
- Provide input on content strategies for new features and updates.
- Cross-functional Communication:
- Work closely with the marketing and customer support teams to align UX copy with broader communication strategies.
- Advocate for the role of UX writing in the product development process, ensuring that user-focused copy is prioritized from the beginning of the design process.
- Collaborative Content Development:
- Partner with UX/UI designers, product managers, and developers to understand user needs and create clear, concise, and meaningful microcopy for user interfaces (e.g., buttons, tooltips, navigation labels).
- Develop copy for error messages, onboarding flows, tooltips, and all other touchpoints within the user journey.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice while ensuring that content is accessible and user-centered.
- User Research & Testing:
- Participate in user research sessions to gain insights into user behavior and pain points.
- Use feedback and data from usability tests to iterate and refine content.
- Collaborate with research teams to identify opportunities to improve user comprehension and engagement through better copy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a UX Writer, Content Designer, or related role within a digital product environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an emphasis on clarity and simplicity.
- Experience working with UX/UI teams and a deep understanding of how copy impacts design and user behaviour.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered writing and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and content management systems (CMS).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of user experience best practices, usability principles, and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
- Experience conducting user research and content testing.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
