About Channel19:

We are a seed-stage B2B startup building AI Agents for the freight trucking industry. Roughly 80% of goods transportation in the US is done by trucks. These trucks are powered by over 1.2 million trucking businesses and create over $700B in annual revenue. Channel19’s mission is to address the intricate operational inefficiencies that burden these trucking businesses. We are building AI powered agents to tackle these use cases. We are on the lookout for a hire, who is ready to dive in, get their hands dirty, and help shape the future of freight technology.


Opportunity:

You will work with engineering and product design at Channel19. You will help architect and implement solutions up and down the stack from AI agents, to front end apps, to our backend, to our databases and external services. You will build deep integrations with TMS, ELD, Telematics, and a variety of data providers so our platform can offer Carriers deep and accurate insights. You will build AI agents to help Carriers manage their operations more profitably by predicting and avoiding wasteful costs, improve utilization, and enhance productivity. As part of that team you'll help set a high quality bar for engineering using software best-practices. Together with the rest of the engineering and product design team, you will help shape the future of Chanel19's tech stack and engineering culture.


Our current stack includes a combination of modern tooling and philosophies:

  • Platforms include React, FastAPI, NextJS, Langchain
  • Languages: Typescript/Javascript and Python
  • DB: MongoDB
  • Cloud Platform: AWS

We have a strong culture of building quickly and iteratively, deploying features and releases to staging and production.

You are always curious to dabble in a new library or framework or language and you analyze their high level pros and cons without even realizing it.
  • You are both a great communicator and listener. You are great at synthesizing inputs from different sources; you speak and write clearly, concisely, and with a structure that gets everyone on the same page when things feel messy.


Must haves

  • At least 1 year and preferably 3 years or more of professional experience in developing and deploying production software.
  • Experience delivering large scale, business critical systems to the cloud
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and implement them.
  • Takes a user focused approach, shipping incrementally with rapid iterations.


Nice to haves

  • Professional experience at a software startup.
  • Experience with Logistics, Transportation, Telematics software.
  • Experience mentoring people technically.
  • Experience in securing large scale applications
