Job Description: Lead DevOps EngineerRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to lead and mentor a team of 2–3 DevOps engineers across infrastructure and application operations. This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring exceptional expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and production reliability.The ideal candidate is someone for whom automation is in their DNA — continuously looking for opportunities to replace manual work with clean, repeatable, scalable processes. They must be an expert in Azure, AKS, Azure Pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with strong multi-cloud exposure and the ability to manage high-availability production environments, cost optimization, and capacity planning.Key Responsibilities1. DevOps Leadership & Team Management- Lead, guide, and mentor a team of 2–3 DevOps engineers (Infra + App DevOps). - Enforce DevOps best practices, automation-first mindset, and operational excellence. - Perform code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and streamline workflow efficiencies.2. Cloud & On-Premise Infrastructure Ownership- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including: - Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) - Azure Pipelines - Azure DevOps ecosystem - Networking, storage, IAM, monitoring. - Deploy and manage workloads across: - Azure (primary cloud) - AWS - GCP - On-premise / hybrid infrastructures - Design resilient, scalable, multi-cloud & hybrid architectures.3. Containerization & Orchestration- Deep hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (cluster ops, scaling, Helm, networking). - Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD. - Implement Terraform-based IaC, emphasizing modular, reusable, automated infrastructure provisioning.4. Production Operations & Application Management- Fully own uptime, reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems. - Implement observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, New Relic, etc. - Drive incident resolution, RCA reports, and preventive action planning. - Handle capacity planning and ensure right-sizing of cloud/on-prem workloads.5. Cloud Cost Optimization & Reporting- Continuously analyze cloud usage and optimize costs across Azure, AWS, and GCP. - Deliver detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly cost reports to leadership and clients. - Prepare cost forecasts, budgets, and projections. - Apply FinOps principles and recommend architecture optimizations for cost efficiency.6. Security, Governance & Compliance- Implement cloud security best practices and automated policy enforcement. - Ensure principle of least privilege, secure CI/CD, and compliance readiness. - Partner with security teams for audits, hardening, and vulnerability management.7. Client-Facing Responsibilities- Act as the technical point-of-contact for clients. - Present production updates, performance reports, cost summaries, and architectural recommendations. - Simplify and communicate complex engineering topics for non-technical stakeholders.Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Must-Haves- 8–10 years of deep DevOps experience with at least 2 years in a lead role. - Strong hands-on expertise in: - Azure, AKS, Azure Pipelines - Docker & Kubernetes - Terraform (modular IaC) - CI/CD pipeline design & automation - Multi-cloud knowledge: - AWS & GCP fundamentals - Experience deploying and managing on-premise environments. - Solid foundations in: - VPC/VNet design, networking, routing, load balancers - Monitoring, logging, alerting - HA, scaling, DR strategiesAutomation DNA- Automation-first mindset — if something can be automated, it will be automated. - Track record of eliminating manual processes through scripts, pipelines, IaC, and tooling. - Comfortable with scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate operational workflows.Operational Skills- Proven experience with high-traffic, highly available production systems. - Strong troubleshooting and incident management expertise. - Ability to plan capacity and optimize performance across environments. - Experience generating structured cloud cost reports and projections.Soft Skills- Excellent written and verbal English communication. - Confident, polished client-facing presence. - Strong leadership, ownership, and mentoring capabilities.Good-to-Have Skills- GitOps (ArgoCD / FluxCD) - Managing AI and other Advance workloads e.g. BIgData will be big plus. - Service Mesh (Istio / Linkerd) - Serverless (Azure Functions / Lambda) - FinOps or Cloud Cost Governance backgroundWhy Join Us?- Lead DevOps for enterprise-scale systems across cloud and hybrid environments. - High visibility role with direct interaction with clients and leadership. - Opportunity for advancement into Cloud Architect / DevOps Manager roles. - Work with cutting-edge tools and automation-driven infrastructure.
