Looking for hybrid cloud MSSQL Database Administrator in Data Platforms team for managing critical MSSQL Server Databases in a global 24x7 environment with hands-on migration experience from on-premises to Azure SQL Platform

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for

- Administering and guarantee the database integrity and availability of the databases defining and following the best practices

- Experience managing Azure SQL Database Platform with cloud database migration experience

- Implement processes and procedures to backup, recovery, monitoring and improvement of the databases performance

- Analyze and solve database problems in a timely and accurate fashion, in a regional and/or global scope.

- Participate in 24x7 support rotation enabling the follow the sun schema along with other teams

- Installation of SQL Server environments & configure as per Guidelines recommended.

- Resolves calls routed to him/her and take escalation calls from L1/L2 support

- In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting scripts and knowledge of server topologies/configurations.

- Backup Database and Configure backups

- Review the Job executions; change Schedule of a job & Configure Jobs as Per Guidelines.

- Analyze statistical data from databases environments and provide periodical reports to the support groups and management

- Review available free space and perform capacity planning

- Decision Making to Perform Shirking & truncating files when necessary.

- Validate the performance of new database objects and release to production environment

- Creating logins & grant, revoke, change permissions to logins on SQL Server as per Request.

- Control & Supervising of ETL processes and SP in production

- Manage, Support, and configure Replication technologies (DB Replication, Log Shipping, Mirroring and Always)

- Observe Flex data retention policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures.

- Protect data and ensure Flex IT security best practices are followed

- Troubleshooting Skills that involves reviewing of Application, system & SQL Server Logs.

Previous Experience Desired:

- Strong administrative skill on SQL 2014 & above.

- Exposure to VMWare or Virtual Server/ Virtual PC would be added value

- Hands on experience on Remote Monitoring of database servers

- Monitors production systems and provides 24x7 support for production related issues.

- Analyzes application performance using error logs, scripts, and backup reports to optimize performance.

- Knowledge of hardware platforms like HP (Proliant servers) and Dell (PowerEdge series) is also an added value

- Works with the global teams for monthly Data Center maintenance activities.

- Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability concepts.

- Capacity planning, monitoring, auditing, database/application performance optimization and other tasks.

- Azure Database Administrator Associate, MCSA


- Ability to work with independently and has excellent troubleshooting abilities.


- Very good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills (advanced English).


- Well organized, hard worker with strong documentation skills
