About Curriculture

At Curriculture, we believe that education is not just about what we learn—but how, where, and why we learn. Our work blends India's rich cultural heritage, indigenous wisdom, and contemporary creative practices to shape learning environments that are alive, interdisciplinary, and rooted in purpose.

Aligned with the transformative vision of NEP 2020, we are looking for exceptional Artist in Residence—creative thinkers, makers, and performers—who can infuse classrooms, campuses, and communities with inspiration, imagination, and impact.

The Role: Artist in Residence

As an Artist in Residence at Curriculture, you won't just teach or present—you'll co-create whole new ways of learning through your craft. You'll become a collaborator with our educators, designers, and learners—bringing your voice, your medium, and your story into vibrant dialogue with real-world learning.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate immersive, hands-on workshops across your artistic discipline—visual arts, crafts, theatre, dance, design, literature, music, film, folk/tribal art, or interdisciplinary practices.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to integrate your art into classroom learning, thematic projects, and co-curricular programs.
  • Mentor students and teachers through demo sessions, process walkthroughs, or collaborative artworks.
  • Host community-facing events, live showcases, or open studio sessions.
  • Contribute to public writing, documentation, and storytelling to extend the impact of your residency.
  • Anchor your work in Indian culture while exploring contemporary educational themes and learner needs.

 Who We're Looking For

Background & Eligibility:

  • A proven portfolio of artistic excellence—solo exhibitions, performances, community art projects, or similar public-facing work.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Fine/Applied Arts, Performing Arts, Literature, Design OR significant professional/public practice.
  • 3–10 years of experience as a practicing artist, performer, or creative facilitator.
  • For traditional art/craft forms: certification, lineage, or community recognition is valued.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in educational contexts—workshops, institutions, art in education programs, or residencies.
  • Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams of educators, designers, and students.
  • Familiarity with NEP 2020 themes like holistic education, IKS integration, and art-infused learning is a plus.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Passion for working with young learners and educators in creative, open-ended environments.
  • Excellent communication in English; fluency in Hindi or regional languages is appreciated.
  • A collaborative, adaptive mindset that welcomes feedback, experimentation, and process-led learning.

 Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Remuneration and other financial benefits
  • Workspace, production budget, and accommodation/travel support (for on-site residencies).
  • National visibility through showcases, press features, and curricular impact.
  • Opportunities to extend your role into curriculum design, research, or long-term collaborations.

 What You Gain

  • Creative autonomy to shape learning experiences that reflect your voice and vision.
  • A platform to co-create with forward-thinking educators and cultural leaders across the country.
  • Opportunities to document, publish, and present your work across Curriculture's national programs and partner platforms.
  • The chance to leave a tangible mark on how future generations experience art, craft, and culture in education.
