Description : Job Summary : We are seeking a seasoned Linux System Administrator with 4+ years of experience to join our Global Engineering Support (GES) team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting Linux systems, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) with experience in supporting large scale infrastructure. Should have experience of working with On-premises and cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in scripting and automation is desirable.This role requires working night shifts to support global operations and ensure high system availability and performance.Key Responsibilities : - Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)- Manage and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability- Perform system updates, patching, and backups- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)- Working experience in EDA Engineering environment with tools such as LSF will be a plus- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures- Collaborate with global IT and support teams to ensure seamless operations- Utilize ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change managementRequired Skills & Qualifications : - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or Diploma with equivalent experience- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration- Proficiency in managing VDI environments and GRID computing infrastructure- Experience with LSF job scheduling and workload management- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.)- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus etc.)- Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)- Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow- Ability to work independently during night shifts and handle critical incidentsPreferred Qualifications : - Certifications such as RHCE will be a plus.- Citrix, VMWare, Oracle KVM knowledge- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)- Knowledge of ITIL practices (ref:hirist.tech)
