Role Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Migration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL development, data migration, and cloud-based data systems, with hands-on experience across relational and NoSQL databases, Google BigQuery, and various ETL tools. This role requires a solid understanding of data modeling, transformation logic, and performance optimization in enterprise-scale migration projects.

Key Responsibilities :


- Design and implement end-to-end data migration solutions using industry best practices

- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data across multiple heterogeneous systems

- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server

- Handle NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and DynamoDB

- Manage data ingestion and performance optimization in Google BigQuery

- Write efficient SQL queries and develop custom ETL scripts using Python or Shell

- Leverage ETL tools such as Talend, Apache NiFi, Informatica, or AWS Glue

- Collaborate with engineering and client teams to understand requirements and ensure data quality

- Perform validation, verification, and reconciliation of migrated datasets

- Troubleshoot issues and handle complex migration scenarios independently

Required Qualifications :


- 4- 6 years of hands-on experience in data migration, ETL, and data integration projects

- Experience working in cloud environments AWS, GCP, or Azure

- Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data transformation techniques

- Strong scripting knowledge (Python/Shell) and SQL optimization skills

- Experience with Google BigQuery for ingestion, transformation, and optimization

- Familiarity with data governance, quality assurance, and compliance considerations

Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience with BigQuery optimization, federated queries, and external data source integration

- Exposure to data lakes and warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery

- Familiarity with streaming tools like Kafka, Debezium, or Google Dataflow

- Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools: Apache Airflow, DBT

- Understanding of data masking, encryption, and privacy standards in data migration

Soft Skills :


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to data quality

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to manage tasks independently and meet tight deadlines

- Strong collaboration skills to work across functional and client teams
