ATS - Business System Analyst - Finance

Job Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role as the primary liaison between the ATS global IT group and other ATS divisions or departments that utilize enterprise systems or data combining technical acumen, business acuity, and industry knowledge to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our enterprise systems, with a specific focus on JD Edwards modules like AR, AP, GL, FA and Cash Management including setting up of Chart of Account, Fiscal Calendar setup etc.

- Operational Support for Oracle JDE 9.2: The analyst provides operational support ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the system.

- This includes troubleshooting, resolving issues, and optimizing system performance.

- Project Participation: Actively participating in the planning, design, development, and deployment of business projects.

- Coordination and Collaboration: Bridging the gap between IT management and business end users, the analyst coordinates activities, gathers requirements, and ensures alignment between technology solutions and business needs.

- Technical Skills in ERP Configuration: The incumbent possesses strong technical skills related to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

- Good understanding of JDE tools like Data Dictionary, Business Function and Report Desing aid.

- Specifically, they configure and customize JD Edwards modules to meet specific business requirements.

- Their expertise extends to financial processes/costing, manufacturing workflows, warehouse management/inventory control, and procurement.

- Industry Best Practices Integration: Beyond technical proficiency, the analyst understands industry best practices.

- They ensure that these practices are seamlessly integrated into our systems at an appropriate level.

Qualifications:

- Engineering or MCA graduate with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

- Commerce background with Chartered Accountancy certification is preferred.

- Good understanding of accounting principles financial reporting and compliance requirements.

- Oracle JDE 9.2 application and configuration skills.

- Experience with our core software applications are an asset, including but not limited to ERP (JDE) version 9.2, JDE report writer, BSSV Server, Udos, UX-One, DSI - bar-coding solution, create form/stream for forms printing Working knowledge of as many of the following JD Edwards report writer, MS Visual Studio, JavaScript, J developer, BSSV server, DSI, Create form, MS Share Point Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modelling and data modelling.

- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.

- Hands-on technical writing and editing experience, with specific experience in documenting information technology software and systems.

- Working knowledge of project management best practices.

- Knowledge of key business processes and a strong understanding of the technical requirements for those key processes.

Responsibilities:

- Strategy & Planning Review and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

- Work with key stakeholders (system owners and data users) and other project team members to define, validate and prioritize system requirements.

- Lead design sessions in prototyping new features or systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.

- Participate in the preparation of project proposals.

- Convert Business requirement to Functional specification.

- Acquisition & Deployment Research software and hardware solutions to justify recommendations and to support purchasing e orts.

- Collaborate in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and system enhancements.

- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide accurate documentation.

- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new applications and reports, and other post-implementation support.

- Provide orientation and training to new system users or training for new applications and process'.

- Operational Management Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve system related problems.

- Document all pertinent system user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.

- Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.

- Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.

- Communicate application issues to key stakeholders (i.: management, developers, and users).

- Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

- Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental application training needs and objectives.

- Maintain an awareness of industry best practices.
