About: The job description of a Senior Planner includes strategic and operational planning within an organization to ensure material planning, Scheduling shopfloor, loading the plants while meeting inventory targets & utilising the available resources & improve Planning:

- Single point contact for delivery plan for Sales & PD for RM availability

- Helping production team by scheduling

- Coordinate the development of annual operating plans and budgets.

- Monitor and evaluate operational performance against targets.

- Identify areas for improvement and recommend operational efficiencies.

Forecasting and Analysis:

- Conduct data analysis and forecasting to support planning activities.

- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders related to capacity enhancements well in advance.

- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the organization

Risk Management:

- Assess risks associated with strategic and operational plans.

- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

Project Management:

- Lead or support cross-functional projects related to strategic initiatives.

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

- Coordinate resources and monitor project progress and performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with departments across the organization to align planning efforts.

- Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather input and drive consensus.

- Communicate plans, goals, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.

Continuous Improvement:

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.

- Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance planning processes.

Compliance and Governance:

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements like ISO, EHS and internal policies.

- Uphold governance standards related to planning and reporting.

Technology and Tools:

- Utilize planning software and tools to facilitate analysis and reporting.

- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in planning technologies.

Skills Required:

Technical Knowledge:


- Understanding of engineering principles and concepts relevant to the industrial practice (eg.. know-how of manufacturing steps like FG & SFG concepts) This includes familiarity with project management methodologies and scheduling techniques.


- He / She should have hands on expertise in using ERP's in PP module in depth & in depth knowledge on TPS or Lean concepts

Project Planning and Scheduling:


- Proficiency in creating and maintaining project schedules using tools such as, Excell, Microsoft Project, or similar software.


- Ability to develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and implement critical path analysis when required.

Analytical Skills:


- Strong analytical abilities to assess business requirements, analyze data, and identify potential risks or constraints.

Communication Skills:


- Effective communication skills to collaborate with all stakeholders, including sales, PD , Production, SCM, and management.


- Ability to articulate project plans, progress reports, and scheduling updates clearly and Aptitude for solving complex problems related to project scheduling, resource allocation, and timeline management.


- This includes proactive identification of issues and development of mitigation strategies.


He/she should be having hands on knowledge on Lean concepts & methodology so if required he can training & push the improvement in required areas

- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project schedules and resource planning.


- This helps in maintaining project timelines and budget adherence.

Teamwork and Collaboration:


- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.


- This includes coordinating with various departments to integrate schedules and ensure alignment of project activities.

Time Management:


- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and project milestones.


- This involves managing multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality and Flexibility to adapt plans and schedules in response to changes in project scope, timeline adjustments, or unexpected challenges.


- This includes managing project constraints and optimizing resource utilization.

Risk Management:


- Understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategies to anticipate potential project delays or obstacles.


- Ability to implement contingency plans and monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement:


- Commitment to ongoing learning and development in planning practices, scheduling techniques, and industry trends.


- This includes staying updated with advancements in Planning, Scheduling management and methodologies along with OEE improvement.

Computer Skills: MS Office , EPR, Project Management software.

Educational Qualification: BE or DME with 3-7 Years

Experience Required: 3-7 Years in Production & planning, with experience of handing big customer accounts with strong lean or TPS knowledge
