We are seeking experienced and versatile ‘Language Champions’ across each of the 5 Indic languages to join our team, the 5 languages listed as follows: Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi and Tamil.


The successful candidates will be proficient in translating English sentences into the respective colloquial Indic language, transcribing Indic audio into written form, and leveraging technical tools like ChatGPT for efficient and scalable language-related tasks. The role requires a deep understanding of both formal and informal Indic language nuances, technical savviness, and the initiative to explore innovative solutions.


Salary range:

9 Lakh rupees per annum. Adjustments can be made for exceptional candidates.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Colloquial Translation:

  • Translate English sentences, ranging from simple to complex, into the respective colloquial, spoken Indic language.
  • Ensure translations are contextually accurate and reflect the intended meaning of the original English text.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all translations, adhering to in-house style guides and glossaries.


2. Audio Transcription:

  • Accurately transcribe Indic language audio recordings into written form.
  • Review and edit transcriptions to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Handle varying dialects and accents within the corresponding Indic language to ensure clear and precise transcription.


3. Technical Tools Utilization:

  • Leverage advanced tools like ChatGPT to assist in translation and transcription tasks. Prompt engineering skill is highly desired for this role. 
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in language processing and implement them to optimize workflows.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve the efficiency and accuracy of language tools.


4. Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular reviews of translation and transcription work to ensure high standards of quality.
  • Implement quality control processes and feedback mechanisms to maintain continuous improvement.


5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other language professionals, project managers, and the technical team to deliver on project requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning sessions for language-related projects.


6. Research and Development:

  • Stay abreast of cultural, linguistic, and technological developments that could impact linguistic services.
  • Conduct research to improve understanding of colloquial Indic language and its evolving usage.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, one of the given 5 Indic Languages, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in translation, transcription, and utilizing technical language tools.
  • Language Proficiency: Native proficiency in the respective Indic with excellent command of English. Strong understanding of the colloquial form of the Indic language and its nuances.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Savvy: Proficient in using language processing tools such as ChatGPT, with a strong interest in exploring new technologies.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both translation and transcription tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges and implement innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various departments.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively within deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated flexibility in adapting to new tools, processes, and languages nuances.


Additional Requirements:

  • This is a hybrid role, with option for work-from-home.
  • Strong preference for candidates located in Chennai or Bengaluru. 
  • Technical Equipment: Access to a reliable computer and internet connection to handle remote work, if applicable. 
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with translation and transcription software, as well as general productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ChatGPT).
