Company Overview


We are a leading firm seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior GST Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Chennai office. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of Goods and Services Tax (GST) laws and compliance. You'll be a key player in ensuring our clients meet their tax obligations accurately and on time, while also providing expert advice to help them navigate complex tax environments.

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior GST Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of tasks related to GST management and compliance. Your primary duties will include:

- GST Compliance Management: Overseeing all aspects of GST compliance for a portfolio of clients.

- Return Filing: Preparing and filing various GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) accurately and on time.

- Audits and Assessments: Handling GST audits, assessments, and notices from tax authorities. You will prepare and submit necessary documents and represent clients as needed.

- Advisory Services: Providing expert GST advisory services to clients, including guidance on tax implications of business transactions, tax planning, and optimization.

- Regulatory Updates: Staying current with the latest changes in GST laws, rules, and regulations and communicating these updates to clients and internal teams.

- Client Coordination: Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, managing their queries, and building strong, long-term relationships.

- Financial Reporting: Utilizing strong analytical skills to prepare and present financial reports related to GST.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in GST and related fields.

- Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in GST compliance, return filing, and handling audits.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance is mandatory. A Post-Graduate degree in Commerce or an MBA is highly preferred.

- Certifications: Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) is a significant advantage.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with various tax software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally) is essential.

Core Competencies

- Expert Knowledge: Deep, practical knowledge of GST laws, compliance procedures, and assessment processes.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities for preparing detailed financial reports and addressing complex tax issues.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client management and internal coordination.

- Adaptability: The ability to stay updated with the ever-changing tax landscape and apply new regulations effectively.

Work Location

This is an on-site role. The successful candidate will be based at our office in Chennai.
