About the Role We are looking for a Forestry Scientist to lead research and on-the-ground implementation of sustainable forestry practices . This role focuses on scientific analysis, ecosystem restoration, afforestation projects, and policy implementation . The ideal candidate will bring expertise in forest ecology, carbon sequestration, and sustainable land-use practices , helping to drive real-world impact in India’s forestry sector.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement forestry-based sustainability initiatives , including afforestation and reforestation projects.
Conduct field research on forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration.
Analyze soil, water, and vegetation interactions to optimize sustainable forestry models.
Monitor forest health and resilience , assessing the impact of climate change on forest ecosystems.
Apply scientific models and GIS-based tools for forest mapping and resource planning.
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and sustainability standards .
Document research findings and reports to contribute to the field of forestry science.
What We’re Looking For PhD in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field .
Deep understanding of forest ecology, carbon sequestration, and afforestation techniques .
Experience in field research, data analysis, and ecological modeling .
Familiarity with remote sensing, GIS tools, and biodiversity assessment methods .
Strong knowledge of Indian forestry laws, policies, and sustainability frameworks .
Passion for sustainability, conservation, and ecosystem restoration .
Ability to work in rural and forested landscapes , engaging with communities and stakeholders.
