Zeno is hiring a Senior Taxation Manager to manage and handle all Indian tax filings, with a primary focus on end-to-end GST compliance.Location:Bengaluru, India (WFO - 5 days a week) Start Date:ImmediateAbout Zeno An unprecedented global energy transition has begun. With a focus on East Africa as a starting point, Zeno is building a new energy ecosystem with ground-up development of a fundamentally better electric motorcycle, battery, and associated battery charging network to drive a better experience for our customers.The Role This individual will manage and handle all Indian tax filings, with a primary focus on end-to-end GST compliance. Responsibilities include managing GST refund claims for exports, ensuring timely settlements through regular engagement with government authorities, and maintaining accurate documentation and reconciliations. As Zeno’s subject matter expert on tax, the candidate must bring strong technical and hands-on expertise in GST refund processes for zero-rated supplies (exports) and ensure full compliance across all tax-related matters.What You’ll Do: GST Refund Management Independently manage end-to-end GST refund applications under the export category. Ensure accurate preparation, filing, and timely submission of claims with complete supporting documentation. Track refund status and proactively follow up with GST officers to secure approvals and disbursements. Compliance & Documentation Maintain comprehensive compliance records, including utilization and reconciliation of Input Tax Credit (ITC). Reconcile GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and GSTR-2B with export-related documentation. Ensure export shipment documentation fully complies with Indian GST and customs laws. Address and resolve notices, queries, or audits from tax authorities. Advisory & Process Excellence Act as the subject matter expert for GST refunds and export-related taxation. Provide strategic guidance on GST refund optimization to reduce working capital impact. Stay up to date on GST regulations, CBIC circulars, and DGFT guidelines, ensuring proactive compliance. Recommend and implement process improvements to accelerate refund turnaround and strengthen controls. Cross-functional & External Collaboration Partner closely with internal stakeholders (finance, logistics, export documentation) to streamline refund processes. Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to support filings, reconciliations, and refund settlements.Your Background: Qualifications:CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance/Taxation) preferred; Bachelor’s in Commerce/Accounting with GST specialization may also be considered. Experience:8–12 years in GST compliance, indirect taxation, or export refunds, with prior exposure to export-oriented companies/manufacturing units strongly preferred. Technical Expertise:In-depth knowledge of the GST Act, refund procedures, and export taxation; proven hands-on experience with GST portal filing and refund applications. Skills:Strong documentation, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail. Audit & Compliance:Demonstrated capability in handling government audits and resolving tax authority queries professionally. Communication:Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Kannada/Tamil is an advantage.
