Overview:

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Vision Systems Research Specialist to join our team. This role is dedicated to conducting extensive research on the evolving scope of machine vision technologies, including LIDAR, SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), IMU (Inertial Measurement Units), ROS (Robot Operating System), 3D Space and more. The Vision Systems Research Specialist will be pivotal in providing the foundational knowledge and resources necessary to support and enhance the capabilities of our machine vision engineers. This position is ideal for someone passionate about the forefront of vision technology and its applications in robotics and automation.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Research and Development: Conduct in-depth research on emerging machine vision technologies, trends, and methodologies, with a particular focus on LIDAR, SLAM, IMU, ROS & 3D Space.
  • Innovation Support: Identify and evaluate new technologies and tools that can enhance the company's machine vision projects. Provide strategic insights and recommendations for integrating innovative solutions.
  • Resource Provision: Source, compile, and manage a repository of technical resources, datasets, and tools to support the engineering team's development activities.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of research findings, methodologies, and experimental results. Prepare and present reports to stakeholders and team members on a regular basis.
  • Project Support: Assist in the conceptualization and development of project prototypes, ensuring that research insights are effectively integrated into practical applications.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with a focus on machine vision, image processing, or robotics.
  • Proven experience in research and development within the areas of LIDAR, SLAM, IMU, ROS, or related vision technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct independent research and present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics and vision systems, such as Python or C++.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and their application in machine vision.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a continuous drive to learn and apply new technologies in real-world applications.
