About the Role 

We are looking for an HR Manager to work with a law firm client, with offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru. This role will based out of the firm's Mumbai office.

As an HR Manager, you will collaborate closely with firm leadership, lawyers, and staff to ensure smooth HR operations and to drive strategic HR initiatives that align with the firm's values and objectives. This role covers a broad range of HR responsibilities, from recuitment, onboarding and payroll to performance appraisals and internal policy support. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Address day-to-day HR queries from lawyers and staff and provide timely solutions or escalate issues as necessary. 
  2. Liaise with the external recruitment co-ordinators for the sourcing and assessment of interns, and new hires. 
  3. Oversee the onboarding, orientation, and separation processes for all lawyers and staff, ensuring compliance with firm policies and consistency in employee experience. 
  4. Assist in the maintenance and tracking of leaves, probation, reimbursements, and other data crucial for accurate payroll processing. 
  5. Support the performance appraisal cycles, including communication of timelines, collation of feedback, and coordination with relevant leaders. 
  6. Facilitate the administration of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines across the firm. 
  7. Co-ordinate and assist in celebrating firm members' birthdays, and organise cultural events such as the Diwali and Christmas events, and other team building activities. 
  8. Foster a workplace culture cantered around collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth. 

Skills & Qualifications 

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  2. 1-4 years of experience in an HR generalist or HR manager role, preferably within a professional services or legal environment. 
  3. Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  4. Strong knowledge of HR processes and employee lifecycle management. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. 
  6. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
