About the Role

As Director of Engineering, you will spearhead the evolution of our enterprise-grade platform the backbone of our embedded analytics and SaaS-based offerings.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to scale, optimize, and enrich the platform while fostering an engineering culture that values innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a technology visionary with strong architectural insight and a deep understanding of enterprise platforms and SaaS ecosystems.

What Youll Own Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical strategy and execution of platform initiatives to build secure, scalable, high-performance, multi-tenant applications.

- Translate high-level business goals into robust engineering roadmaps with clear priorities and deliverables.

- Partner closely with Product Management, Analytics, and Architecture teams to co-own the product vision and execution strategy.

- Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team through technical guidance, coaching, and structured problem-solving.

- Drive architectural decisions and technical design, balancing long-term vision with short-term deliverables.

- Champion code quality, reusability, and engineering best practices across the lifecycle of platform development.

- Foster a DevOps culture that embraces automation, performance tuning, secure coding, CI/CD, and agile delivery.

- Evaluate new technologies, conduct SWOT analysis on build vs. buy decisions, and prototype new tools/frameworks to maintain a cutting-edge stack.

- Build reusable frameworks and reference implementations that increase delivery velocity across product teams.

- Take ownership of platform governance, including documentation, metrics, security protocols, and system audits.

What You Bring Technical Expertise

- Proven experience building enterprise-grade, mission-critical platforms in SaaS or cloud-native environments.

- Deep proficiency in Java/J2EE, including frameworks like Struts, JSP, Servlets, JMS, Spring, and Hibernate/Kodo.

- Experience with front-end frameworks, XML processing (DOM/SAX), workflow engines, and integration frameworks.

- Familiarity with multi-tier architectures, RESTful services, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and cross-cutting concerns like authentication, logging, and monitoring.

- Strong database knowledge hands-on with SQL, data modeling, and platforms like Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL.

- Background in designing distributed systems and knowledge of concurrency, caching, performance tuning, and fault-tolerant designs.

- Experience integrating components like Document Management Systems, Workflow Management, Offline Access, and LDAP.

- Track record of delivering platforms that are secure, resilient, and optimized for memory, bandwidth, and latency constraints.
