Mechanical Site Engineer – GAD

Role OverviewWe arelooking for ahighly skilled Mechanical Engineerwith strong expertise inGAD (General Arrangement Drawings)andmechanical systems of elevators . The ideal candidate should be capable ofreviewing, correcting, and coordinating mechanical drawings , verifyingsite measurements , andproposing technically viable alternate solutionswhen site deviations arise. This role demandshands-on mechanical understanding ,keen technical observation , and the ability to bridge the gap betweendesign and site executionto ensure quality installation. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & MechanicalStudy and verify elevatorGADs and mechanical layoutsbefore execution. Identify and correcterrors, mismatches, or feasibility issuesin drawings. Evaluate site clearances (shaft, pit, overhead, machine room, door openings). Proposepractical alternate mechanical solutionsfor site deviations. Coordinate with the design team forGAD revisionsand corrections. Ensure correctfitment and alignmentof car frames, guide rails, machine beams, buffers, and brackets. Work with the factory and site teams to ensurefabrication and materialsmatch corrected site conditions. Site Coordination & MeasurementTake accuratesite measurementsand verify them against approved drawings. Prepare and submitsite measurement reportswith clear documentation. Identify potential issues before installation and provide corrective guidance. Liaise withbuilders, architects, and contractorsfor technical clarifications. Support installation teams to ensure mechanical work is executed as per revised GADs. Quality & ComplianceEnsure installation meetsElevators’ quality standardsand relevant safety norms (IS/BIS). Supervise mechanical assemblies foraccuracy, alignment, and workmanship . Inspect and verify materials and mechanical installations before commissioning. Coordination & ReportingCommunicate mechanical deviations and alternates effectively to office and site teams. Maintain documentation of all site-based mechanical corrections and implemented solutions. Train and guide junior technicians on reading GADs and accurate measurement practices. Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding ofmechanical systems in elevators . Expert inreading and correcting GAD drawings . AutoCAD proficiency(mandatory). Good knowledge ofshaft geometry, load points, and structural interfaces . Excellentproblem-solvinganddecision-makingability. Capable of takingprecise measurementsand ensuring mechanical fitment accuracy. Strong communication and coordination skills. Qualification & ExperienceDiploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. 5 to 10 yearsof experience in elevator installation, site supervision, or mechanical design. Prior experience withmodern controller-based elevator systemspreferred. Willingness to travel for site coordination when required. CompensationCompetitive salary based on experience and technical capability.
