The Opportunity :

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is an exciting opportunity for a data professional with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, particularly within the Azure ecosystem. You will play a crucial role in managing our 'big data' infrastructure and ensuring data integrity from source to consumption.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include :

- Data Pipeline Development : Design, build, and optimize robust and scalable 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets to support various analytical functions.

- Data Integration : Ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data ecosystem, ensuring data quality and consistency.

- Data Testing & Validation : Develop and execute comprehensive tests to validate data integrity and accuracy from the source systems through to the presentation layer.

- Troubleshooting & Support : Provide critical support for existing data pipelines, identifying and resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure data flow.

- Data Analysis Support : Possess a strong interest in data analytics and work closely with data analysts and scientists to ensure data accessibility and usability for reporting and insights.

- Unstructured Data Handling : Apply strong analytical skills to effectively work with and process unstructured datasets.

- Collaboration & Communication : Drive alignment, collaboration, and efficiency within cross-functional teams through confident and concise communication, ensuring effective project delivery.

Technical Expertise :

- Cloud Platform : Proven experience as a Data Engineer using Azure or a similar role with data analytics functions.

- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).

- Proficiency with Azure Databricks for data processing and analytics.

- Experience using Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Familiarity with Azure Functions and Serverless Architecture.

- Programming Languages : Strong proficiency in Python (for scripting and data manipulation) and/or R.

- Querying Languages : Expert-level skills in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

- Big Data Frameworks : Experience with Scala and Spark-SQL for distributed data processing.

Key Requirements & Qualifications :

- Experience : 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role focused on data analytics functions.

- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to diagnose and resolve complex data issues.

- Communication : Confident and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Collaboration : Proven ability to work effectively within teams, fostering alignment and efficiency.

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
