Position Overview:

We are seeking a lead Frontend/UI Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge frontend applications. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled engineer with expertise in JavaScript, React, and frontend application development. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to mentor and coach team members, and a solid understanding of UI design principles. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading UI initiatives, reviewing code, and providing technical direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality frontend solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of frontend applications using JavaScript, React, Node.js, and other relevant technologies.
  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and performant UI components and features.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on best practices and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and technical challenges.
  • Communicate project details and technical solutions effectively to stakeholders and team members.
  • Take ownership of UI technical direction and provide guidance on architecture and design decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend trends, technologies, and best practices with prototypes.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in frontend/UI development, 3+ years hands-on production level coding experience with Node.js in a consumer application.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, React, and frontend frameworks/libraries.
  • Strong understanding of UI design principles, micro FE, module federation and component-based architecture.
  • Deep experience with unit test patterns (use JEST, Jasmine, Mocha, or similar)
  • Production experience with npm, gulp, asset pipelines (browserify, webpack, or similar)
  • Experience with end-to-end frontend application development, including design, implementation, and testing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Ability to review code and provide constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Continuous learner with a passion for staying updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Express.js, ES6+, React Redux, and server-side rendering.
  • Knowledge of modern CSS frameworks and preprocessors.
  • Familiarity with UI testing frameworks and tools in TDD style, experience and affinity with dev-authored integration and functional tests.
  • Understanding of web performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, etc.)
  • Understanding of modern customer development strategies (Lean Startup, marketing, etc.), Cross-browser, cross-platform UI design
