Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager - IT to oversee daily IT operations and support strategic IT projects. The ideal candidate will manage system optimization, lead IT projects, and ensure the smooth operation of systems such as CargoWise. This role is critical in driving process automation, efficiency improvements, and providing leadership in IT support and development, especially in accounting and logistics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead and manage IT operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all IT-related activities.
• Provide direction and support to junior IT staff and ensure best practices are followed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business goals.
• System Support & Maintenance:
• Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of systems like CargoWise and other critical applications.
• Manage scheduled reports (DSR, Outstanding Reports, AR support) and ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain and update web trackers, databases, and system configurations.
• Provide implementation and support for CargoWise Accounting modules, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.
• Project Management:
• Lead and execute IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Support automation initiatives to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with external vendors for system integrations and third-party service support.
• Reporting & Data Analysis:
• Ensure timely generation, distribution, and analysis of key reports.
• Provide insights from data analysis to improve business performance.
• Lead efforts to automate reporting and other routine tasks.
• Stakeholder Management:
• Work closely with department heads and senior management to identify IT needs and drive solutions.
• Communicate effectively with external vendors, ensuring optimal support and service.
• Attend meetings with senior leadership to provide updates on IT operations and project progress.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management or a senior IT role.
• Expertise in CargoWise, particularly in CargoWise Accounting Implementation and Support.
• Strong understanding of Container Freight Station (CFS) operations and warehousing.
• Experience with NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) systems is an added advantage.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Proficiency in SQL, XML, and system integration tools.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver under pressure.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with PHP or similar languages for web development.
• Familiarity with automation tools and methodologies in the logistics industry.
• Knowledge of container tracking and shipment operations through IT solutions.

Master Database Cleanup and Updates: Maintain data integrity and accuracy.

Staff and Resources Maintenance: Manage staff profiles and resource information within CargoWise.

CargoWise Support: Provide technical support and training for the CargoWise platform.

Dahu Support: Offer support for Dahu-related tasks and issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

Implementation and Configuration: Lead and manage the implementation of the CargoWise One system, customize modules, and set up user roles and workflows.

System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of CargoWise with other systems using tools like CargoWise eAdaptor.

Training and Support: Develop and deliver training sessions, create user manuals, and offer technical support.

Process Optimization: Conduct process analysis, implement best practices, and automate repetitive tasks.

Project Management: Define project scope, develop plans, coordinate teams, and monitor progress.

Data Management and Reporting: Oversee data migration, ensure data accuracy, and generate custom reports.

Compliance and Documentation: Maintain documentation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and implement security measures.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest CargoWise features and propose new solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Several years of experience in IT analysis, system integration, and support.

Demonstrated experience with the CargoWise One platform.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
