Job Summary : The Digital Forensic Investigator - Manager is responsible for leading a team of digital forensic experts in conducting investigations related to digital crimes, data breaches, and other technology-related incidents.
- This role involves managing case workflows, ensuring the integrity of digital evidence, and providing expert testimony in legal proceedings.
- The manager will also collaborate with other departments and external agencies to resolve complex technical issues and support organizational security and compliance goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of digital forensic investigators, providing guidance on best practices, investigation techniques, and career development.
- Case Management: Oversee the planning and execution of digital forensic investigations, including evidence collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Technical Expertise: Apply advanced forensic techniques to recover, analyze, and present digital evidence from various sources such as computers, mobile devices, and networks.
- Incident Response: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage and respond to data breaches, cyberattacks, and other security incidents.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure that investigations comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of forensic methodologies and legal requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed and accurate reports of findings, including evidence analysis, methodologies used, and conclusions.
- Present findings to stakeholders, including legal teams and senior management.
- Training and Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of the forensic team and other relevant personnel.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement procedures and best practices for digital forensic investigations.
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT, legal, and security teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive responses to investigations and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A master's degree or relevant certifications (e. , Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are preferred.
- Proven experience in digital forensics, including experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of digital forensic tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to digital evidence and cybersecurity.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
Work Environment:
- The role may involve working in an office environment or remotely, with occasional travel to different locations as required by investigations or training sessions.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with forensic software and hardware (e. , EnCase, FTK, X1).
- Understanding of network security, data recovery, and encryption technologies.
- Ability to provide expert testimony in court
