We are seeking an experienced API Automation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests for our APIs to ensure they function correctly and meet performance expectations. You will work closely with our development and QA teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, contributing to the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities :

- Automate API Tests : Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate API functionality, performance, and reliability using tools such as Postman, JMeter, or similar.

- Test Planning and Execution : Create detailed test plans and test cases based on API documentation and user requirements. Execute tests and report on results.

- Integration with CI/CD : Integrate automated API tests into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to ensure tests are run frequently and consistently.

- Bug Identification and Reporting : Identify, log, and track defects or issues found during testing & Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues promptly.

- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and automated testing processes. Ensure all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

- Collaboration : Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to understand requirements, provide feedback, and improve test coverage.

- Performance Testing : Conduct performance and load testing for APIs to assess scalability and reliability under various conditions.

Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience : Proven experience in API automation testing, with a strong understanding of API protocols (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).

- Tools and Technologies : Proficiency with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, JMeter, RestAssured, SoapUI), and experience with scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).

- CI/CD Tools : Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

- Knowledge : Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), and understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

- Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications : Relevant certifications in API testing or automation (e.g., ISTQB).

- Experience : Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure).

- Tools : Knowledge of additional testing tools and frameworks is a plus.
