About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Medical Coding Manager to oversee our medical coding operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in coding practices. The role involves supervising a team of coders, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations, driving productivity, and supporting revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the medical coding team to achieve quality and productivity targets.
  • Review, audit, and validate coding accuracy for ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, payer guidelines, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to coding staff.
  • Monitor workflow, allocate resources, and resolve coding-related issues.
  • Collaborate with billing, AR, and compliance teams to support the revenue cycle.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Stay updated on coding guidelines, regulatory changes, and payer-specific requirements.
  • Prepare reports on team performance, error rates, and productivity metrics for management.
  • Handle escalations and act as a subject matter expert for coding-related queries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in medical coding with at least 2–3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in medical coding software and EHR systems.
