Description :

Position Title : Windchill PLM Application Developer/Consultant

Experience Required : 5+ years

Key Responsibilities :

Windchill PLM Design & Development :

- Lead the design, development, and testing of PTC Windchill PDMLink applications.

- Customize and configure Windchill workflows, OIR (Object Initialization Rules), and InfoEngine tasks to meet business needs.

- Develop and deploy enhancements and integrations within Windchill PLM environment.

Integration and Customization :

- Manage integrations between Windchill PLM and external systems such as SAP ERP, CADENAS, CIDEON Conversion Engine, and other enterprise applications using REST APIs.

- Work with file transfer protocols for creating viewable files and integrating MCAD systems like SolidWorks and CREO.

- Perform customization of the Windchill PLM system to improve business processes and functionality.

Java Development :

- Write custom code in Java, J2EE, JSP, and JavaScript to implement features and functionality for Windchill PLM.

- Utilize XML for data handling and transformation in PLM processes.

- Develop AJAX, Bootstrap, and jQuery-based applications to enhance user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).

Database Management :

- Develop and optimize Oracle SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and report on data from the Windchill PLM database.

- Ensure data integrity and optimize database performance in a PLM environment.

Collaboration with CAD Teams :

- Work closely with MCAD teams to integrate tools like SolidWorks and CREO Direct Drafting with Windchill PLM.

- Provide technical expertise and support for CAD data management and integration with PLM systems.

Agile/DevOps Processes :

- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Work with the DevOps team to implement CI/CD pipelines for Windchill application deployments.

- Ensure seamless and efficient delivery of software through agile methodologies.

Testing and Quality Assurance :

- Collaborate with testing teams to ensure the quality of customized Windchill applications through unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for issues reported by users or found during testing.

- Ensure all code and integrations meet defined standards and quality expectations.

PTC Windchill Version Management :

- Manage and support Windchill PDMLink version management and system upgrades, including WGM (Windchill Workgroup Manager).

- Perform patch management, installation, and configuration tasks for Windchill 13.0.0.0 and future releases.

Documentation & Training :

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation for customized features, workflows, and integrations.

- Provide end-user training and support for Windchill applications and related systems.

- Assist in knowledge transfer to junior team members and provide mentorship as needed.

PTC Tools & Technologies :

- Leverage tools such as PTC Modeller and Codebeamer (if applicable) to support development and collaboration on Windchill-related projects.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Work closely with business analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Ensure that all solutions align with business needs and system capabilities, balancing functionality, cost, and timeline.

Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Experience : Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM, including PDMLink, workflows, and integration with CAD and ERP systems.

Technical Skills :

- Proficient in Java, J2EE, JSP, JavaScript, and XML.-

- Experience with AJAX, Bootstrap, and jQuery (optional but desirable).

- Strong SQL skills, particularly with Oracle databases.

- Experience with MCAD integration (SolidWorks, CREO).

- Familiarity with agile development practices and DevOps processes.

- Knowledge of PTC tools like PTC Modeller and Codebeamer is a plus.
