Gurugram, India Universal Technology Solutions (UEBIZ) Full time

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server DBA to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Database Administrator.

Minimum 10 years in programming is a must. Candidates will be required to produce code examples in TSQL (Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers), code example in PowerShell script and Batch Script interacting with SQL Server.

Position will require a minimum of 3 years’ experience with Performance tuning.


Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.

Manage database security, including user roles and permissions.

Monitor database health and conduct routine maintenance.

Experience with Distributed SQL Server Availability Groups

Knowledge of Data Replication.

Performance Tuning:

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.

Implement indexing, partitioning, and other optimization techniques.

Conduct regular performance tuning and query optimization.

Database Design and Development:

Design and develop efficient and scalable SQL databases.

Create and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.

Optimize SQL queries and database performance.

Data Management:

Implement data integration and ETL processes to import and export data across systems.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.

Monitor and maintain data quality and integrity.

Reporting and Analytics:

Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualization tools.

Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting needs.

Provide support for data analysis and business intelligence initiatives.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals.

Provide technical support and training to end-users and team members.

Document database designs, processes, and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
  • 10 years’ experience as an SQL DBA and Developer working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and other SQL Server tools.
  • Experience in database design, development, and maintenance.
  • Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in T-SQL and complex query development.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, normalization, and indexing.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS).
  • Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI) and data visualization.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Microsoft SQL Server (e.g., MCSA, MCSE).
  • Experience with cloud-based SQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
  • Familiarity with other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) and automation.
