Job Title : Practice Head - Data
Location : Bangalore
Experience : 20+yrs
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Strategy :
- Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data practice, aligning with business goals and client needs.
- Lead the practices growth initiatives, ensuring high-quality service delivery across a range of data services
(Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, AI/ML, Data Governance, etc.).
- Set clear objectives and KPIs for the practice, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
Team Management and Development :
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of data engineers, scientists, analysts, and other specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and career development for team members.
- Provide thought leadership and contribute to skill development in emerging technologies and methodologies.
Client Engagement and Delivery :
- Drive client engagement by understanding business needs, defining data strategies, and delivering solutions that meet client expectations.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within
budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong Development and Growth :
- Develop and manage the P&L of the data practice, driving revenue and ensuring profitable growth.
- Identify new business opportunities, lead proposal development, and present solutions to prospective
clients.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to promote the data practice and position the company as a
thought leader in the data space.
Innovation and Technology :
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management, AI/ML, and
analytics.
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as cloud platforms, big data solutions, and machine
learning frameworks.
Governance and Compliance :
o Ensure data governance, privacy, and compliance standards are met across all projects.
o Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A Masters degree or higher is preferred.
Experience :
- 10+ years of experience in the data domain with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large teams
and complex data-driven projects.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale data initiatives, including AI/ML, data engineering, business
intelligence, and analytics.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), data governance, and data privacy regulations.
Skills :
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to drive business growth, build strong client relationships, and manage financial targets.
- Hands-on experience with modern data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and machine learning : Relevant certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or AI/ML are a plus.
