Role Overview:We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our Finance team and lead cost analysis across all business verticals. This is a full-time, on-site role in Halol, Vadodara, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment. The role may require periodic travel to company locations across India to support cost audits, inventory reviews, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems tailored to each business vertical. - Analyze production costs, overheads, and operational expenses. - Conduct variance analysis and report deviations from standard costs. - Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure accurate cost allocation. - Monitor inventory levels and reconcile physical counts with financial records. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management. - Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning. - Assist in audit preparation and ensure compliance with financial standards. - Recommend cost-saving initiatives and process improvements. - Analyze profitability by product, division, and customer. - Participate in new product costing, pricing strategies, and margin analysis. - Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies. - Support ERP implementation and data integrity for cost modules. Required Skills & Experience:- Master's/Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CMA preferred). - 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in engineering or manufacturing. - Strong understanding of GAAP, standard costing, and ERP systems. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial insights clearly. - Experience with inventory management, BOMs, and production costing. Desirable Skills:- Hands-on experience with ERPNext, including setting up accounting policies, workflows, and administrative controls to ensure best practices in cost management and reporting. - Knowledge of activity-based costing, lean accounting, and sustainability accounting. - Experience in multi-vertical cost analysis and project-based environments. - Exposure to automation, supply chain optimization, and cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis. - Ability to manipulate large datasets and generate actionable dashboards.
