This leader is tasked with setting the corporate vision, driving profitable growth in the road and railway sectors, ensuring financial health, fostering a culture of safety and excellence, and building strong relationships with government agencies, investors, and key stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesI. Vision, Strategy, and Growth:- Strategic Leadership: Define and articulate the long-term vision and strategic plan for the company, focusing on expansion, market penetration, and diversification within the roads, highways, rail, and associated infrastructure markets.- Commercial Growth: Lead high-level business development activities, securing major projects (e.g., PPP, EPC, BOT, Hybrid Annuity Models), and driving top-line revenue and market share growth.- Innovation: Champion technological advancement, adoption of digital construction methods (BIM, modular construction), and sustainable practices within infrastructure projects.II. Financial Performance and Governance:- P&L and Financial Health: Take full accountability for the company's Profit & Loss (P&L) statement, balance sheet, and overall financial performance. Drive profitability, control costs, and optimize capital utilization.- Investor Relations & Funding: Manage relations with investors, financial institutions, and the Board of Directors. Oversee strategies for project financing, debt management, and capital expenditure (CapEx) planning.- Risk Management: Establish and monitor comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, specifically addressing financial, operational, contractual, and regulatory risks inherent in large-scale infrastructure projects.III. Operational Excellence and Delivery:- Project Oversight: Ensure world-class execution and delivery of all road and railway projects, holding executive teams accountable for meeting stringent deadlines, budgets, and quality specifications.- Safety Culture: Mandate and champion a non-negotiable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture across all sites, ensuring compliance with global and local safety standards, particularly concerning high-risk railway environments.- Efficiency: Drive operational efficiency across all functional areas, including engineering, procurement, construction, and asset management, optimizing the deployment of specialized HEMM and resources.IV. Stakeholder Management and Culture:- Government Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong, effective relationships with top-level government authorities, regulatory bodies, and clients (e.g., Highway Authorities, Railway Boards) to secure approvals and foster trust.- Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain an exceptional executive team and leadership talent, setting high performance standards and promoting a culture of accountability, integrity, and technical excellence.- Public and Corporate Image: Serve as the primary spokesperson for the company, enhancing its reputation and public profile as a leader in transportation infrastructure.Required Qualifications and SkillsEducation: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field is preferred. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is typically required.Experience: Minimum 20+ years of progressive executive experience in the Civil/Construction or Infrastructure industry, with extensive experience in managing large-scale roads and railway portfolios. At least 8-10 years in a CEO, COO, or Managing Director role.Industry Knowledge: Deep, authoritative understanding of project finance, regulatory frameworks, contract models (PPP, EPC), and complex construction methodologies specific to the transportation sector.Leadership: Proven track record of strategic planning, P&L management, successful capital project delivery, and leading diverse, multi-functional teams.Core Competencies: Exceptional vision, commercial acumen, negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and influential communication ability.
