This Position reports to: R&D Team Lead Your role and responsibilities:In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.The work model for the role is: #LI-HybridThis role is contributing to theELSP inBangalore /Hyderabad . Main stakeholders are{ELSP} .You will be mainly accountable for: Design and developC# and Python-based applicationsto connect edge or on-premise systems with cloud environments (AWS / Azure).Integrate and manageSDKs(AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, Device Provisioning Service, Digital Twins, etc.).Implement and maintain communication stacks forindustrial protocolssuch as:Modbus (RTU/TCP), IEC 61850 / MMS ,OPC UA / OPC DADevelop secure and efficient data pipelines between field devices and cloud applications.Handledevice authentication ,certificate management , andcloud connectivity (MQTT, HTTPS, Web Sockets) .Build and deploy microservices or background services for data collection, processing, and publishing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (embedded, cloud, and frontend) to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following industry best practices.Troubleshoot protocol-level and SDK-level communication issues. Stay updated with new developments in industrial protocols and cloud SDKs.Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree incomputer science ,Electronics , or related field.8+ years of hands-on experience withC#and/orPythondevelopment.Proven experience integratingAWSorAzure SDKs(IoT Core, IoT Hub, DPS, S3, Lambda, Functions, etc.).Understanding ofindustrial communication protocolslikeModbus RTU/TCP ,IEC 61850 , andOPC UA .Experience in developing or consumingRESTful APIs ,MQTT , andWebSocketservices.Knowledge ofdata serialization formats(JSON, XML).Familiarity withcertificate-based authentication ,TLS/SSL , andX.509 security .Proficiency withGit ,CI/CD pipelines , andcontainerized environments (Docker) .More about us :ABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
