Job Description: Shopify Developer


Overview: We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer with a minimum of 5 years in the e-commerce and Shopify ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of Shopify’s platform, theme customization, app development, and API integrations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who can deliver custom, scalable, and high-performance solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Shopify Store Development & Customization:
  • Customize and optimize Shopify themes for an engaging and user-friendly shopping experience.
  • Develop advanced product functionalities, multi-variant options, and custom forms in line with complex business needs.
  • Build custom Shopify sections, templates, and snippets using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  1. App Integration & Custom App Development:
  • Integrate third-party Shopify apps and APIs to extend store functionality and improve operational efficiency.
  • Design and develop custom Shopify apps using Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or React, tailored to business-specific requirements.
  1. Frontend & UX Optimization:
  • Ensure responsive design and UX/UI best practices across mobile, desktop, and tablet views.
  • Implement animations, interactive elements, and seamless transitions for enhanced user experiences.
  1. Backend & API Management:
  • Maintain scalable backend systems for data handling, custom orders, and API integrations with Shopify.
  • Develop custom scripts and workflows, including checkout processes, discounts, and inventory syncing.
  1. Store Performance & Troubleshooting:
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to Shopify themes, apps, and integrations.
  • Optimize store performance, load times, and implement best practices for SEO and conversion rate optimization.
  1. Collaboration & Documentation:
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Document code, customization processes, and project workflows for maintenance and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer, with a proven track record in e-commerce projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a backend language such as Node.js or Ruby.
  • Strong understanding of the Shopify API, GraphQL, REST APIs, and app ecosystem.
  • Experience with Shopify Plus features, including Shopify Flow, Scripts, and custom checkout processes.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), and project management tools like Jira or Trello.


Preferred Skills:


  • Knowledge of headless Shopify architecture and experience with JAMstack or similar approaches.
  • Background in other e-commerce platforms (Magento, WooCommerce) is a plus.
  • Understanding of MySQL or other databases and data management for analytics.


Soft Skills:


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines effectively.
