About the job :

Key Responsibilities :

- Advanced Troubleshooting and Escalation : Serve as the highest tier of technical delivery for all Azure-related incidents and delivery requests, ensuring swift resolution of escalated issues.

- Diagnose and remediate complex infrastructure and application problems across Azure services.

- Architecture and Solution Design : Assess business requirements and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure solutions.

- Collaborate with architects and project teams to implement architecture best practices.

- Cloud Infrastructure Management : Deploy, configure, and manage Azure-based environments, including virtual networks, compute, storage, security, and monitoring resources.

- Automation and Scripting : Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep templates, or Terraform) to automate cloud operations and deployments, improving overall efficiency and consistency.

- Security and Compliance : Implement and enforce security controls in the Azure environment, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR).

- Conduct periodic reviews and vulnerability assessments.

- Monitoring and Optimization : Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

- Optimize performance, cost, and availability of resources.

- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity : Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions using Azure native tools and third-party products.

- Documentation and Knowledge Transfer : Create and update technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

- Mentor and train L1 and L2 engineers, fostering knowledge sharing within the team.

- Continuous Improvement : Evaluate new Azure features and services, recommend adoption based on organizational needs, and continuously improve existing architectures and processes.

- Stakeholder Collaboration : Liaise with developers, business analysts, IT leadership, and vendors to ensure Azure solutions align with organizational goals and user requirements.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent experience considered.

- Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud operations and engineering, with at least 3 years focused on advanced Azure services.

- Certifications : Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), or equivalent are highly desirable.

Technical Proficiency :

- Extensive experience with Azure Compute (VMs, App Services, Functions, AKS)

- Strong expertise in Azure Networking (Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall)

- Storage services expertise (Blob, Files, Queues, Tables, Azure Data Lake Storage)

- Identity and access management (Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, RBAC, Managed Identities)

- Security controls (Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud)

- Monitoring and Management (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Network Watcher)

- Databases (Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure Database Migration)

- Serverless and PaaS offerings (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Web Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus)

- DevOps and Automation (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, ARM/Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI)

- Backup, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability (Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, Availability Sets, Zones)

- Cost Management and Governance (Azure Cost Management, Budgets, Tags, Policies)

- Experience with hybrid environments (Azure Arc, Azure Stack, integration with on-premises infrastructure)

Key Responsibilities By Azure Service Area :

- Compute : Provision and manage VMs, App Services, AKS clusters.

- Implement scaling, patching, and performance optimization.

- Networking : Configure VNETs, peering, VPN/ExpressRoute, firewalls, and front door services to ensure secure and resilient network design.

- Storage : Architect and manage blob, file, and disk storage solutions, ensuring data security, backup, and lifecycle management.

- Identity : Implement Azure Active Directory, integrate with on-premises AD, manage SSO, MFA, and conditional access policies.

- Security : Enforce security baselines, monitor security alerts, apply patches, manage encryption, and remediate vulnerabilities.

- Monitoring : Set up and tune monitoring solutions to detect and respond to incidents, analyze logs and metrics for root cause analysis.

- Databases : Deploy and manage Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and other database services, including security, replication, and performance tuning.

- DevOps : Build and maintain automation pipelines for deployments, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.

Desirable Experience :

- Experience with enterprise-scale migrations to Azure, including planning, tools, and post-migration optimization

- Knowledge of containerization (AKS, Docker) and microservices architecture in Azure

- Exposure to Data and AI services (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Cognitive Services, Machine Learning)

- Working knowledge of third-party security and backup solutions integrated with Azure

- Experience with compliance (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.) in cloud environments
