Role Overview:

As a Test and Validation Engineer for Lithium Batteries, Chargers, and Electric Vehicles (EVs), you will be responsible for comprehensive testing, validation, and certification processes to ensure the safety, performance, reliability, and compliance of these critical components and systems. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential for ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of Lithium batteries, chargers, and EVs, contributing to the success and reliability of electric mobility solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing and validation processes for Lithium batteries, chargers, and EV systems.
  • Develop and implement test plans, test strategies, validation protocols, and test cases.
  • Conduct performance tests, safety tests (thermal runaway, short-circuit, overcharge), environmental tests (temperature, humidity, vibration), and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications relevant to Lithium batteries, chargers, and electric vehicles.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, testing laboratories, certification agencies, and regulatory bodies on validation projects.
  • Analyze test data, evaluate performance metrics, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Prepare documentation, test reports, compliance submissions, and technical files for regulatory approval and type certification.
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies and validation techniques to optimize testing processes.
  • Stay updated with evolving technologies, industry trends, testing standards, and regulatory requirements in the field of electric mobility.
  • Explore new testing methods, innovative solutions, and emerging technologies to enhance testing capabilities and ensure product quality and reliability.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in testing and validation, preferably within the automotive, charger, and EV powertrain systems.
  • Strong understanding of Lithium battery technologies, including cell chemistries, battery management systems (BMS), thermal management, safety features, and aging characteristics.
  • Proficiency in testing and validation techniques for Lithium batteries, such as performance testing, safety testing, environmental testing, and regulatory compliance testing.
  • Knowledge of battery charging principles, charging standards (CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2), and charger testing/validation requirements.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle architectures, powertrains, drivetrains, electrical systems (sensors, ECUs), vehicle control systems, and vehicle dynamics.
  • Understanding of EV performance metrics, energy efficiency, range estimation, regenerative braking, and safety systems (ABS, stability control).
  • Hands-on experience with testing equipment, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test automation tools (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Strong analytical skills for data analysis, performance metrics evaluation, failure analysis, root cause identification, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Excellent documentation skills and experience in preparing test reports and compliance submissions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement in testing processes.
  • Proactive mindset for exploring new testing methods and innovative solutions.
