Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Apigee Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of APIs using Google Apigee. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in API lifecycle management, Apigee runtime environments, and modern integration technologies. Experience with Google Cloud's Anthos and container platforms will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain APIs on Google Apigee Edge and Apigee X platforms.

- Manage full API lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and retirement.

- Set up and manage API products, plans, rate limiting, and monetization strategies.

- Integrate APIs with backend systems using various protocols (API-based, Queue-based, File-based integrations).

- Build and manage Developer Portals, enabling self-service onboarding for API consumers.

- Implement security policies, traffic management, mediation, transformation, and analytics on APIs.

- Work with Apigee Developer Toolkit and Apigee Runtime Engine.

- Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal API design and integration.

- Troubleshoot and optimize API performance and ensure high availability and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Google Apigee.

- Strong understanding of API Management concepts, including API lifecycle, monetization, catalogs, products, and plans.

- Experience with Apigee Developer Portal, API Manager, and Apigee Developer Toolkit.

- Practical experience with Google Anthos and Apigee Runtime Engine.

- Strong grasp of RESTful services, microservices architecture, and web services (SOAP/REST).

- Solid knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, headers, request/response flows, and XML/JSON data structures.

- Proficient with tools and technologies such as XPath, RegEx, CRUD operations, and various HTTP methods.

- Hands-on experience integrating with backend systems via different integration patterns.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerization.

- Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift platform.

- Knowledge of Drupal for UI/Developer Portal customization.

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
