Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Manager to oversee and streamline our purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing supplier relationships (especially across the UK, China, and Europe), handling inventory planning, negotiating contracts, and executing data-driven procurement strategies using ERP and CRM systems. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate supplier/vendor performance, ensuring contract compliance and timely issue resolution while maintaining productive relationships.
- Review and analyze vendor options for pricing, quality, and reliability to select the best suppliers.
- Generate and manage purchase orders aligned with company policy and budgetary constraints.
- Maintain updated records of purchases, pricing, contracts, and inventory using ERP systems.
- Lead price negotiations to secure competitive deals for quality products and services.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels-avoiding both overstock and stockouts while minimizing holding costs.
- Create and present procurement reports to the HOD, including cost analysis, supplier metrics, and forecasts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the warehouse, accounts, internal teams, and logistics to ensure smooth procurement cycles.
- Track and update supplier databases, including qualifications, delivery timelines, and development potential.
- Make prompt, professional decisions in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement projections in line with organizational planning.
- Work closely with internal teams and the Procurement Manager to complete tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in vendor/supplier management, especially with suppliers from China, the UK, or Europe.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, procurement planning, and demand forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices, compliance standards, and international sourcing.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and tools used for procurement; hands-on experience with Excel and CRM platforms.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills - ability to create procurement dashboards, cost analysis, and performance metrics.
- Ability to manage procurement documentation, audits, and supplier qualification records.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills across multiple departments.
- High attention to detail and professional judgment in high-pressure situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications like CIPS, CPSM, or CSCP are an advantage.
- Prior experience in international procurement, particularly in dealing with UK or Chinese suppliers, is strongly preferred.
