HETGCC is seeking an experienced Thermal Engineer based in Gurgaon to work on projects of Helix Earth Technologies Inc., under the project manager based out of Houston, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:


HETGCC is seeking a talented Thermal Engineer to play a key role in the definition, development, and design of our products.

•The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure that from initial concept to design fruition and testing that all thermal objectives are met or surpassed in order to enable effective solutions that will substantially increase air conditioning energy efficiency.

•Design and develop condensing heat exchangers and thermal systems, considering factors such as efficiency, cost, and material properties to meet system-level requirements.

•To conduct thermal design and process engineering work in designing components including: electric heaters for heating of liquids, fluid loops for liquid transport, material selection and compatibility, and waste-heat recovery methods.

•Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, materials scientists, chemical engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration of the heat exchangers and thermal systems into the final products.

•Hands on system fabrication and testing.

•Conduct experimental testing and validation of system prototypes to assess performance, reliability, and durability of thermal systems and heat exchangers under various operating conditions.

•Analyze and interpret test data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement and make recommendations for system-level design modifications and optimizations.

•Participate in design review meetings and provide expert guidance on thermal systems design, especially heat exchanger elements, materials selection, and other relevant aspects of heat exchanger development.

•Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports to support product development and quality control processes.

•Aid in proposal writing, technical writing, and technical documents.

•Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, including safety and environmental guidelines.

•Engage with external collaborators such as engineering firms, suppliers, and manufacturers as needed.

•Participate and/or lead project planning and design, estimate resources, estimate project timelines and costs.

•Define system-level requirements, requirements for engineering designs and drawings, create system test plans, and create operational documents.

•Participate in consumer research and product ideation as needed.


Qualifications:


•B.S./BE degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience, M.S. with 3+ years industry experience, or PhD with 1+ years of industry experience.

•The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fundamental physics associated with heat and fluid flow and will have the expertise and ability to design novel heat exchange solutions for liquid heating and thermal recovery in a condensing heat exchanger.

•Hands-on experience in a lab-setting.

•Ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline team and communicate technical information.

•Professional experience in heat transfer and heat exchanger design.

•Strong first principles grasp of heat transfer mechanisms and fluid mechanics.

•Familiar with heat exchanger design, thermal control methods, hardware, technologies, and fluid systems.

•Experience with thermal testing equipment and methods.

•Basic design skills using 3D CAD software.

•Working knowledge of MATLAB, MS Excel, and MS Office.

•The ability to think creatively and devise novel solutions to complex heat transfer and fluid mechanics problems.

•The ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

•Maintenance of a persistent attention to detail.

•Good communication skills and collaboration skills.


Helpful background:


•Experience with industry analytical simulation tools such as Thermal Desktop, ANSYS Mechanical, COMSOL, NASTRAN, SIMCENTER3D, or other thermal FEA tools.

•Advanced 3D CAD software skills are preferred (SolidWorks preferred).
