In the Defense & Aerospace vertical, cybersecurity is not just a technical requirement—it’s a national security imperative. This role is central to protecting sensitive systems, classified data, and mission-critical platforms from sophisticated cyber threats. The cybersecurity lead will interface with government and military stakeholders, ensuring compliance with defense-grade standards and contributing to the strategic defense posture of the organization. Their work underpins the integrity of aerospace innovations and defense operations.This position reports to the Group Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO).Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the strategic goals of Adani Defence and Aerospace, ensuring the protection of sensitive defence technologies and intellectual property. Lead risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in IT and operational systems, prioritizing mitigation strategies to address critical risks. Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Oversee the deployment and management of advanced cybersecurity technologies, including threat detection, incident response, and data protection systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity measures into the design and development of defence and aerospace products and solutions. Monitor and respond to emerging cyber threats, ensuring the organization’s preparedness to counter sophisticated attacks targeting critical infrastructure. Build and lead a high-performing cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of innovation, vigilance, and continuous improvement. Drive cybersecurity awareness and training programs across the organization to enhance employee understanding of security protocols and practices. Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and regulatory bodies, to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture. Provide regular updates to the Group CISO and executive leadership on the state of cybersecurity, including key metrics, incidents, and strategic initiatives. Required Qualifications & Experience Proven experience of years in cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and leadership roles, preferably within the defence or aerospace industry. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are essential. Demonstrated expertise in managing cybersecurity for critical infrastructure and high-value intellectual property. Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or Business Administration is preferred. Years & Type of Experience years of experience in cybersecurity leadership roles, with a focus on strategic planning and operational execution. Extensive experience in managing cybersecurity within complex, high-stakes environments such as defence, aerospace, or critical infrastructure sectors. Domain Expertise In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations relevant to the defence and aerospace industry. Expertise in advanced threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. Familiarity with secure software development practices and technologies used in defence and aerospace systems. Digital & Operational Tools Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and platforms such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions. Experience with risk assessment and management tools tailored to critical infrastructure. Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and their cybersecurity implications. Leadership Capabilities Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in collaborating with government agencies and industry partners. Demonstrated success in driving organizational change and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness. Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on long-term resilience and innovation.
