Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Applications Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based application architectures.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud applications that meet business objectives and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), application architecture best practices, and a passion for driving digital transformation through cutting-edge cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and architecture of cloud-based applications, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security across diverse application environments.
  • Develop cloud application architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and solutions that align with business needs and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with development teams to design cloud-native applications and services that are optimized for the cloud environment.
  • Select and implement the most appropriate cloud services (e.g., compute, storage, databases, and networking) to meet application requirements while balancing cost, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to integrate cloud-based applications with on-premise systems where necessary.
  • Ensure all cloud applications comply with security standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Establish governance and security policies for cloud-based application resources, including identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and encryption.
  • Optimize cloud applications for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
  • Work with DevOps teams to implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based application delivery.
  • Manage cloud application performance, monitoring resource usage, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Lead cloud application migration efforts, assisting with the seamless transition of on-premise applications to the cloud.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, tools, and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization's cloud strategy.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior application architects and developers working in cloud environments.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to articulate cloud application architecture decisions and strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications and architectures.
  • Expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong background in cloud-native application development and cloud service integration.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based networking, load balancing, and security protocols (e.g., VPN, VPC, IAM).
  • Experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, particularly in continuous delivery and automation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to engage with both technical and business stakeholders effectively
Preferred Skills
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud application architectures.
  • Expertise in container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and how to deploy, manage, and scale microservices in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with cloud application security best practices, including encryption, key management, and vulnerability assessments.
