Business Unit: Containers
The Containers BU is the largest and fastest-growing vertical at MTL, catering to top brands with customized rigid packaging solutions.
Role Overview:
As a Management Trainee - Sales & Marketing, you will be on a fast-track leadership development path within MTL's Containers business. This role is designed to groom highpotential individuals to take on regional leadership responsibilities eventually.
Key Responsibilities:
Phase 1: Induction & Training:
Undergo a structured training program across:
- Container product portfolio & manufacturing processes
- New Business Development
- Sales systems, CRM tools, and supply chain coordination
- Key client accounts and existing market landscape
- Cross-functional exposure: Operations, Finance, Procurement & R&D
- Shadow senior sales leaders and participate in field visits
Phase 2: Business Leadership:
- Take ownership of a sales region (West or North)
- Manage new business development and key accounts
- Build strong relationships with key customers and channel partners
- Conduct detailed sales and margin analysis, pricing strategy, and account profitability tracking
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor intelligence, and customer insights
- Contribute to investment decisions by evaluating ROCE, capex proposals, and business cases
- Collaborate with marketing and product development to align solutions with the market demand
What We're Looking For:
- MBA/PGDM from Tier 1/2 Institutes with specialization in Marketing, Strategy, or General Management
- 0-1 years of work experience (prior internships in B2B, FMCG, or manufacturing sales preferred)
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort with financial metrics like ROCE, EBITDA margins, etc.
- High drive for execution, people leadership, and client engagement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel and take on regional assignments
