Job Title: Privacy Specialist – Privacy by Design & Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)


Experience Level: 2 -5 years


Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Privacy Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing Privacy by Design principles and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). You will work closely with our Data Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure that privacy is embedded in all our processes, systems, and services from the outset.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate Privacy by Design principles into the service delivery team, software development lifecycle (SDLC) and other relevant processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that privacy is a core consideration in the design and development of new products, services, and processes.
  • Develop and maintain privacy standards, guidelines, and best practices for use across the organization.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, products, and processes to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Document and report on the findings of PIAs, including risk mitigation strategies and recommendations for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Work with stakeholders to implement the recommended privacy controls and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with global data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA) and ensure that PIAs and privacy practices are aligned with these requirements.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of privacy policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor privacy risks across the organization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate privacy risks, ensuring that personal data is processed in a secure and compliant manner.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Law, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Privacy by Design principles and experience in applying them in real-world projects.
  • Proven experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and managing privacy risks.
  • In-depth knowledge of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience with privacy management tools (e.g., Securti.ai, OneTrust) is an advantage.
