What You’ll Do:Backend DevelopmentDevelop and maintain backend services using NestJS + Node.jsWrite clean, modular, and well-tested code following best practicesImplement RESTful APIs and microservices with attention to scalabilitySystem Design & ArchitectureCollaborate in system design discussions and learn distributed system conceptsSupport senior engineers in designing scalable, fault-tolerant architecturesDatabase ManagementWork with SQL/NoSQL databases for modeling, queries, and performance tuningEnsure data consistency and basic optimizations in stored logicSecurity & QualityFollow secure coding standards (OWASP, auth flows, validation)Contribute to testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviewsAI-Enabled EngineeringUse AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude, Copilot, etc.) for faster, higher-quality deliveryLearn to integrate AI-based workflows into backend systemsObservability & ReliabilityImplement logging and monitoring with APMs (NewRelic, Datadog, OpenObserve)Participate in debugging and issue resolution in staging and productionCollaboration & GrowthWork with Product, Data, and SDE-2/3 mentors to deliver featuresTake ownership of small-to-medium modules and demonstrate continuous improvementQualifications Required1–3 years backend experience with Node.js/NestJSSolid grounding in DSA, OOP, and microservice conceptsHands-on with SQL & NoSQL databasesUnderstanding of API design, testing, and CI/CDAwareness of secure coding and compliance basicsExposure to cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)Willingness to use and learn AI coding tools Preferred QualificationsExperience in fintech, SaaS, or high-scale product systemsFamiliarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plusKnowledge of monitoring tools and APMsStrong communication and eagerness to learn system design from senior engineersEmbody Grip’s values: Ownership, Transparency, Courage, Customer Obsession, Celebration
