How will you contribute to the team?
The Senior Engineer, Protection & Control will report to the Engineering Manager, who will provide supervision for the Protection, Control & Automation design work that includes the following:
- Preparation of Protection, Control & Automation designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations.
- Preparation of Protection & Control single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics.
- Preparation of Automation architecture and designs.
- Design and development of panel layouts and bill of materials.
- Design and development detailed wiring diagrams.
- Development of cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules.
- Programming of Protection, Control and Automation devices.
- Work on reports and calculations.
- Perform site visits.
- Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.
What will you contribute?
- A Professional Engineer registered (or eligible for registration) with APEGA (Alberta) or EGBC (British Columbia).
- Must have a University Degree and have previously taken courses in Protection and Controls.
- Must have 5 - 15 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code.
- Previous electrical design work experience in Transmission & Distribution, and or Generation is considered an asset.
- Experience in an engineering consulting environment is an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and with PLC programming.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices.
