We are hiring for Dean of Academic Affairs / Registrar for one of our reputed client in the higher education industry.
Job Summary:
The Registrar /Dean is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of student records, course registration, and academic policies at the university. This includes maintaining the integrity and security of academic records, coordinating class schedules, facilitating student enrollment, managing graduation processes, and ensuring compliance with academic regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Student Records Management:
- Maintain and update accurate records of student enrollment, grades, academic progress, and degree completion.
- Ensure the confidentiality, security, and integrity of student academic records.
- Oversee the management of transcripts, diplomas, and certifications.
2.Course Registration and Scheduling:
- Coordinate and oversee the course registration process each semester.
- Develop and manage the university’s academic calendar, including exam schedules.
- Work with academic departments to ensure accurate course offerings, schedules, and room assignments.
3.Graduation and Degree Audits:
- Supervise the degree audit process to ensure students meet all academic requirements for graduation.
- Oversee the preparation and issuance of diplomas and other academic awards.
- Coordinate commencement and graduation ceremonies.
4.Compliance and Policy Enforcement:
- Enforce academic policies and procedures related to grading, withdrawals, and academic standing.
- Assist in policy development and provide guidance to faculty, staff, and students.
5.Student Support and Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administrators regarding academic records, registration, and policies.
- Provide guidance to students on academic policies, deadlines, and procedures.
- Respond to student inquiries regarding transcripts, registration, and graduation.
6. Faculty Development and Support:
- Lead the recruitment, retention, and professional development of high-caliber faculty members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive academic environment that supports faculty research, teaching excellence, and engagement in scholarly activities.
7. Student Success:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student learning outcomes, retention, and graduation rates.
- Promote initiatives that support student engagement, academic advising, and career readiness.
8. Accreditation and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with national and international accreditation standards and oversee the preparation of accreditation reports and reviews.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards of academic excellence.
9. Research and Innovation:
- Promote and support faculty and student research activities, securing external funding, and fostering partnerships with industry and academic institutions.
- Lead initiatives that encourage innovation in teaching, learning, and research.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field with a strong academic record and a minimum of 15 years of experience in higher education, including significant leadership experience in academic administration.
- Leadership and Management Experience:
- Proven track record of successful academic leadership, including experience as a Registrar or Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, or similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, manage complex academic programs, and drive institutional change.
- Academic Excellence:
- Strong commitment to academic quality, teaching excellence, and student success.
- An established record of scholarly achievement, including publications, research grants, and contributions to the academic community.
