This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, reliable, and cost-efficient movement of goods from warehouses to dark stores and smart stores. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in fleet management, vendor ecosystem building, and hyper-local delivery networks to support rapid grocery deliveries (2-hour, 4-hour, and 8-hour models).Responsibilities:Fleet & Vehicle Operations ● Manage daily placement and utilization of dedicated and market vehicles (1109, 32 ft, Tata Ace, etc.). ● Plan and optimize routes to ensure timely and cost-effi cient grocery deliveries. ● Monitor and track vehicles using GPS/tracking systems; proactively resolve routing and operational issues.Vendor Management & Network Building ● Build and manage a robust vendor network for PTL (Part Truck Load) and FTL (Full Truck Load) transportation. ● Negotiate competitive rates and apply per kg / per trip cost models. ● Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure availability of diverse vehicle types.Hyper-local Delivery Network (Hyderabad Focus) ● Develop and strengthen a hyper-local delivery ecosystem in Hyderabad. ● Build and manage biker fl eets and partner with courier companies for last-mile deliveries. ● Ensure SLA adherence, service excellence, and customer satisfaction.Process Excellence & Cost Management ● Implement standardized processes for scheduling, vendor coordination, billing, and compliance. ● Drive effi ciency through strong planning, route optimization, and vehicle utilization. ● Create dashboards/reports to track per-trip, per-kg, and per-km costs.Collaboration & Compliance ● Coordinate with warehouse and store teams to ensure smooth dispatches. ● Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements. ● Train and mentor transportation staff for effective execution.Qualifications: ● Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related fi eld (preferred). ● 5–8 years of experience in transportation/logistics management, preferably in FMCG, grocery, or retail distribution. ● Strong knowledge of fl eet management, PTL & FTL vendor ecosystems, and hyper-local delivery models. ● Hands-on expertise in route planning, tracking systems, and cost models (per kg, per trip, per km). ● Strong negotiation skills with an extensive vendor network in Hyderabad. ● Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and logistics software. ● Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Skills & Attributes: ● Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills ● Good interpersonal skills ● Willingness to work extended hours during peak loads What We Offer: ● Opportunity to play a key role in strengthening and scaling an established transportation vertical. ● Competitive salary with performance-linked incentives. ● A collaborative, fast-paced, and growth-driven work environment.
