Position Title: Security Operations Engineer

Reports to: IT Security Manager

Category: FTE

Location: Chennai, India

Number of Openings: 2


JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the security controls & technologies of FutureX and FutureX customers. Further, he/she will take initiatives from threat prevention to incident detection and response.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Security Monitoring and Response:

  1. Monitor the performance of all Security Technologies including Firewall, EDR, PAM, Email security, SIEM, etc.
  2. Analyse and respond to information security incidents, including investigation of countermeasures to and recovery from them.
  3. Respond to incoming calls, emails, and alerts from the 24/7 Security Operation Centre (SOC)
  4. Collaborate with all FutureX departments and vendors, to manage security incidents
  5. Identify threats and recommendations for countermeasures
  6. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the security of the systems


Governance:

  1. Prepares, maintains, and adheres to procedures for security, reporting, and monitoring.
  2. Adhere to all security controls and policies.
  3. Ensure auditing is enabled across the complete IT Infrastructure
  4. Ensure that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
  5. Perform routine checks on the security of the infrastructure and present findings.


Reporting and Documentation:

  1. Produce all required documentation for tasks completed, according to established standards.
  2. Create & publish reports on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis to stakeholders
  3. Document the configuration of all security technologies and ensure that all documentation is updated to reflect any changes.
  4. Review all documentation and ensure everything is correct and up to date.


Alert Management and Incident Response:

  1. Solve incidents related to tickets within SLA commitments.
  2. Investigate the root causes of problems.
  3. Propose solutions for root-cause resolution.


Training and Development:

  1. Ensure all certifications required for the role (see below) are met within 6 months of joining FutureX.
  2. Ensure all certifications are kept valid.
  3. Maintain knowledge of all relevant aspects of Security administration and expand areas of required specialized knowledge. (NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, TTP’s)


SPAN OF COMMUNICATION: Security team all other FutureX internal teams & FutureX customers


JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY): These roles have limited decision-making authority.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:


Required Qualifications / Certifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related subject (Computer Science/IT Security)
  2. CompTIA Security+
  3. CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker


Required Experience:

A minimum of 4 years’ + experience in IT SecOps or relevant experience


Required Skills:

  1. Moderate problem solving
  2. Good spoken and written English
  3. The ability to make clear, engaging presentations to all FutureX staff

  6. PAM


Other Requirements:
