Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled MySQL Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain databases for our Risk Management functions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MySQL, database architecture, and performance optimization. They will work closely with risk analysts, data scientists, and engineers to ensure data integrity, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:- Database Design & Development: Design and create relational database structures optimized for risk management applications.
- Data Modeling: Develop and implement efficient database models that support risk analytics, reporting, and decision-making.
- Query Optimization: Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to ensure high performance.
- Data Integrity & Security: Implement data governance policies, security measures, and backup strategies to safeguard sensitive financial data.
- ETL & Data Integration: Build ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into MySQL databases.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency.
- Automation & Maintenance: Develop scripts for database automation, ensure regular maintenance, and manage version control.
- Collaboration: Work with risk management teams, data scientists, and engineers to provide database support and ensure seamless data flow.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in MySQL database development, design, and administration.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in MySQL, SQL scripting, and query optimization.
- Experience with database normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, etc.) is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Understanding of risk management, financial data, or insurance industry concepts is preferred.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Ability to work with cross-functional teams and explain database-related decisions clearly.
- Experience with Python, R, or other data processing tools.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) for hybrid solutions.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
- Work on cutting-edge risk management solutions in the insuretech industry.
