Senior Electrical Engineer

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide technical mechanical engineering support, ensuring that projects are delivered to high standards and within agreed timelines.Your Purpose As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering designs, managing technical documents, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment where you’ll apply your expertise to water and wastewater projects, focusing on control systems, electrical installations, and power supply design.What You’ll Be Doing Produce technical deliverables including schedules, data sheets, engineering calculations, and specifications for subcontracts.Design electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, including control, monitoring, and telemetry systems.Develop electrical installation designs, ensuring compliance with safety standards, including for hazardous areas.Support the development of incoming electrical supply systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency.Collaborate with the supply chain and provide technical bid analysis for their designs.Ensure all work meets technical standards, adhering to the MAS requirements and challenging when necessary.Drive excellence in health and safety by applying CDM regulations and creating safe designs.Maintain quality and consistency in all engineering technical documents and deliverables.Work closely with senior engineers and discipline heads to ensure thorough checking and approval of technical deliverables.Communicate effectively across teams to ensure technical excellence and escalate any potential issues to the Technical Manager.Collaborate with engineers and technical managers to ensure smooth project interfaces and share best practices.Qualifications and Experience Required Minimum B. Tech / M. Tech from an institution of repute. Extensive knowledge and experience of design in the water industry. An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation. The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs. Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT or Plant 3D as well as MS Office Software. Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractorsPrincipal Duties and Main ActivitiesSee also AW@One Role ProfileKey points: A degree or higher technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline. Solid experience in a project engineering environment, with a strong understanding of electrical design and project delivery. A proven ability to design and administer electrical projects, particularly for water sector assets. Excellent knowledge of electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment, including instrumentation and power supply design. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply practical experience to complex challenges. Experience in applying CDM regulations and ensuring safety standards are adhered to in designs. A proactive approach to learning and development, with a keen interest in embracing new technologies and improving efficiency. A commitment to safety, ensuring all designs comply with CDM regulations and health and safety practices.
