Responsibility:

8Bit is seeking exceptionally skilled and highly motivated Senior and Lead Data Scientists to tackle cutting-edge challenges in Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. Ideal candidates will:


  • Leverage expert understanding of artificial intelligence, particularly in computer vision or natural language processing, to pioneer the development of novel algorithms and applications.
  • Translate state-of-the-art AI research into sustainable and excellently engineered software that exceeds scalability and reliability benchmarks in a production environment.
  • Continuously innovate and iterate on AI/machine learning models, utilizing advanced experiment design and data analysis techniques to surpass the needs of the business.
  • Strengthen the symbiosis between engineering and data science teams, promoting a culture of collective responsibility for project outcomes, delivery and shared learning.
  • Exercise full responsibility for delivering high-quality code and thoroughly tested machine learning models, adhering strictly to predetermined deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of industry advancements in AI and machine learning, incorporating this knowledge into team practices and strategic planning.
  • Mentor freshers and interns.


Educational and Industry Experience:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s degree accompanied by 2 to 4 years of industry experience. PhD freshers can also apply.
  • The degree should be in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Engineering, acquired from a premier institute. In India, this would include institutions like the IITs, NITs or IISc, while globally, the degree should be from a university that ranks highly on the QS World University Rankings.


Technical:

  • Industrial experience must be in steering and executing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) projects, with a specialized focus on Computer Vision (CV) OR Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Extensive proficiency in Python programming tailored to developing and implementing machine learning algorithms and adeptness in integrating advanced software engineering techniques into AI system design.
  • Proficiency in leading deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras, with an emphasis on crafting and customizing models for complex data science challenges.
  • For CV: Comprehensive skills in constructing and refining state-of-the-art deep learning models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), alongside experience with the latest advancements in Vision Transformers (ViTs) and General AI (GenAI) techniques for image and video analysis tasks.
  • For NLP: Demonstrated experience with the integration and application of Transformer models, Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT for a variety of complex NLP tasks including but not limited to text generation, sentiment analysis, machine translation, and content moderation.
  • Candidates with industry experience in both CV and NLP will be preferred.
  • Solid experience with machine learning lifecycle management tools such as MLflow or Kubeflow and proficiency in utilizing major cloud service providers’ ML environments like AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, and Google AI Platform for seamless model training and deployment.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of the utilization of Databricks for large-scale data processing and familiarity with robust ML ecosystems which supports exploratory data analysis, prototyping, and orchestrating ML pipelines.
  • An uncompromised dedication to crafting high-quality engineering documentation, emphasizing clear and concise descriptions, reproducible results, and maintaining excellence in technical reporting and code documentation.


Other Skills:

  • This position involves interaction with customers to some extent so excellent command over written and verbal communication in English is expected, with a proven capacity to effectively articulate technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative setting, showcasing a history of successfully partnering with cross-disciplinary teams to drive project milestones and innovation.
