To create and maintain our state-of-the-art platform, we are seeking a highly experienced and talented Lead UI designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the UI design process for new features, creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces with a user-centric design approach. They should be able to work in cross-functional teams, collaborating between designers, product managers, analysts, and engineers. An excellent communicator, the ideal candidate can present to senior stakeholders using written, verbal, and visual forms of communication. They have an intrinsic motivation to improve the experience of our users and can work autonomously and self-sufficiently.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the UI design process for new and existing features.
  • Translate broad, conceptual ideas into visually stunning and valuable experiences.
  • Drive clarity of plan, strategy, and vision on key company priorities with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists.
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams.
  • Collaborate with Product, Research, and Engineering partners from concept through completion and future iterations.
  • Own the end-to-end design (visual, etc.) across multiple features and projects.
  • Provide implementation guidance to engineers and ensure features launch with top-notch visual quality.
  • Utilise prototyping skills and/or animation, especially using tools like Figma, to enhance user interfaces and interactions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Develop, contribute to, and maintain a cohesive design system.
  • Inspire and mentor junior designers.


Requirements:

  • Experience: 7+ years of UI design experience.
  • Portfolio: Solid portfolio showcasing work with attention to detail and articulating design decisions, with a focus on visual design and interactive elements.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in visual design, interaction design, human factors, human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficient with design tools, especially Figma, and stays up-to-date on design trends.
  • Platform Diversity: Experience designing software applications for multiple platforms (e.g., web, mobile, desktop).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Prototyping and Animation: Proficient in prototyping skills and/or animation to create engaging user interfaces and interactions.
