We are currently hiring for Senior Kong Engineer


Years of experience : 4 - 8 Years


Work Location : Hyderabad / Bangalore( Work from office)


Kong Senior Engineer combines an understanding of Kong Gateway and Kong Konnect. This role will work with various departments to create, develop and automate various aspects of KONG API GATEWAY, proxies’ development, usages of the various KONG Plugins, build, deployment, logging, and to setup & maintain the observability of the entire KONG deployment as per the given architecture and plan.



Kong Senior Engineer provides a SME expertise to size the work in terms of to develop and maintain the KONG and all the APIs exposed through it.

This role is going to report to the KONG Architect and work closely with the Project Team.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Co-ordinate with the existing engineering team to understand their development, build and deployment process w.r.t Cloud (preferably on AWS) and Kong Konnect.
  2. Hand on experience in KONG (Community and Enterprise)
  3. Code and configure to build secure networking, infrastructure, database, monitoring, alerting for Kong API gateway.
  4. Design Plugins to connect with varied systems using Kong API gateway.
  5. Working experience in Industry Standard protocols related API Security including OAuth is a must.
  6. Demonstrate strong design and programming skills.
  7. Work with Security team to establish/align the API Security standards.
  8. Kong Platform operations and maintenance
  9. API Foundational components definition and design
  10. Publishing and documenting APIs on Kong Developer Portal
  11. 1way and 2way SSL implementation in Kong.
  12. Automated deployment and version upgrade process of KONG with automated CI/CD pipelines
  13. Auto scalability and de-scalability of the KONG platform
  14. KONG Service Mesh implementation to set up the internal connect of the microservices.
  15. Product the various insights from the KONG dashboards for the usability of the APIs.



TECHNICAL SKILLS

  1. Well versed in a programming language and its framework like: Java 11, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, Docker, K8S
  2. Experience on Kong API gateway - community and enterprise
  3. Design Plugins to connect with varied systems using Kong API gateway.
  4. Experience to setup KONG on AWS and On Prem
  5. Experience working on Kong Ingress with Kubernetes\Dockers and configurations.
  6. Meet the SLA of 99.9999 % for deployment on UAT, and Production.
  7. Sound knowledge of shell scripting


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. BE/B. Tech and/or M. Tech in any discipline
  2. 4-8 years of industry experience and 2-4 years in KONG.
  3. Strong problem-solving skills.
  4. Good collaboration skills.
  5. Good communication skills.
